Muay Thai camps, gyms and padel clubs

After the last round, the queue forms at the cold pool

A club's recovery corner is judged in the ten minutes after training, when twelve people want the same pool. We size the water, the chillers and the walkway for that queue, put the floors and drains where wet feet go, and hand over a hygiene routine that survives a busy week with no supervisor.

These are design examples, not fixed rules; we size from your timetable and the number of people leaving a session together. The principle holds: the queue sets the volume, the volume sets the chillers, and the plant niche follows the chillers. Basics are on the cold plunge pool page.

Wet feet, sweat and the floor

People arrive hot, wet and barefoot. The floor around the pool is non-slip stone or tile with a fall to a linear drain; rubber and canvas stay out of the splash zone; and the route from the training floor to the pool passes a shower first. A mat well at the entry catches the chalk. The cabin door opens onto the same wet floor, with a bench and hook rail so towels never end up in the pool.

The first second is the hard one: steps, an edge to hold and a rail that is where the hand expects it.

Hygiene when everyone arrives sweaty

  • A shower rule. Soap-free rinse before the pool, posted at the door.
  • Filtration and UV or ozone. Sized for the bather load, not the pool volume alone.
  • A test and log routine. A sheet on the wall: who tested, when, what the readings were.
  • A drain-and-refill schedule. It follows the traffic, and the handover sheet states it in numbers.
  • One question for the authority. Ask your provincial public-health office which water standard applies to a club's plunge pool.

Where the pool sits relative to the ring, the rig and the courts

Cold plunge is for the cool-down, so the pool belongs on the way from the training floor to the changing rooms, not across a car park. A padel club puts it beside the last court with a glass wall so waiting players can watch; a Muay Thai camp puts it between the ring and the showers. The plant niche goes where its exhaust has an outside wall, away from the training hall's quiet corners.

A cabin for six to eight

A glass cabin of six to eight seats runs THB 540-770k to THB 720k-1.03M. Clubs usually put it beside the pool with a rinse between them. It pairs with the cold side in the contrast rounds many members already ask about; see glass saunas. Coaches decide whether and how their members use contrast; we build the equipment and post the safety notice.

Putting the plant on the training timetable

The first night is the long one: about nine hours to bring 1,100 litres from tap temperature to 4 °C. After that the chiller is recovering from bathers and sun, not starting cold. So the plant runs on a timer built around your sessions: a full pull-down before opening, a top-up through the midday lull, a setback when the last member leaves. A camp with a 06:30 and a 16:00 session wants the pool back at 3-5 °C within the three or four hours between them, which is why we size for the queue and not for the average. Chillers for Thai heat has the arithmetic.

Neighbours, noise and early hours

Many camps and clubs sit among houses and open at dawn. The chiller goes in a louvred enclosure on the side away from neighbours, with its exhaust pointing at a wall or a planted bank rather than a window, and the layout carries a noise estimate before anything is ordered. The pool itself is quiet; the pumps are mounted on vibration pads inside the niche.

Signage, staff briefing and the insurer

A club's duty of care is practical: a posted notice, a one-page briefing for the trainers on the pool rules, and a conversation with your insurer about what they need to see. We supply the notice text and the specification the insurer will ask for; we do not state what any insurance or regulation requires, because that depends on you and your location.

How big a pool does a Muay Thai camp need?

Start from the number of people leaving a session together. A camp with a dozen fighters finishing at once usually wants about 2,000-2,400 litres on two 4 HP chillers, with a third unit for anything larger, so two or three people can use it while the others wait.

Can the pool take a tired, sweaty crowd every day?

Yes, with filtration sized for the bather load, UV or ozone, a shower rule and a log sheet. The handover pack states the routine in numbers.

Do you give training advice?

No. Coaches and members' doctors decide protocols. We supply the equipment and a notice: short sessions, never alone, not after alcohol, ask a doctor if in doubt.

Can we add the cabin later?

Yes. We reserve the footprint, the drain and the electrical capacity in stage one so the glass cabin slots in when the first season has paid for it.
